Most of the people who denigrate journalism do so because they watch Fox. Fox constantly puts down education and journalism, because their viewers are neither educated nor do they recognize real journalism.

They denigrate it because they KNOW better.
I've been personally involved in events that made the news...what was reported and what actually happened were not the same.
They put down the CURRENT status of "education" which I agree is deplorable. It's been dumbed-down so literally "anyone" (any white person) can pass.
