I'm crushed! I Googled 'Sidney Lanier' and scrolled through the first TWENTY pages of references and found tons of them about the 'real' Sidney Lanier and things named after him (lake, bridge, schools) but nothing about the 'assumed' Sidney Lanier. How disappointing!
