Everyone needs to realize that this is all a political game. His party is forcing him to resign in the event that Roy Moore gets elected. They feel that Franken's resignation will make it easier for them to remove Moore.

If Moore wins, watch for the circus to begin. There will be investigations and hearings none of which will produce anything other than to get members of Congress some face time on television.
