We will be going to St. Lukes in Lake Sumter Landing and we have the brochure on cataract surgery. The surgery with the standard lenses is covered by insurance but they show upgraded lenses for $2000.00 an eye and another for $3000.00 an eye. We wonder if these upgrades are really worth the extra expense since we know several people that have had the surgery and got the standard lenses and have all had no issues and now see 20 - 20 but need to use reading glasses for close up. There is also NO GUARANTEE that if you get those $3000.00 premium lenses ($6000.00 for both eyes) that you will not have to wear glasses for close up. Any additional thoughts would be appreciated.

I had the premium lenses implanted. ($6000) I could not be more pleased with the results. I can see far, medium and close -up. This was the best investment that I have made in a long time. I can see the small disclaimers on the tv commercials and my night driving has been greatly improved.
