Heartbroken over high expectations with Villages Hospital
Very happy with Villages health care.
Took 93 year old mom at Dr. direction to emergency room at Villages hospital. She could not breath. Waited 5 hours until she got to a room in emergency while heavily breathing. Sat in a wheelchair in waiting. She was cold. Asked for blanket, I'll see if we have one, do you have a pillow? No. First oxygen tank done, have another? Not sure.
Got to emergency room. I'm ready to blow. No water or food allowed. Extremely diabetic patient, 93 mind you. Finally a kind RN brought a turkey sandwich, mom goggled down with water.
Finally got a room in hospital.
We have been there most of time. Lunch delivered and mom can not see or cut food or even open plastic ware for eating, did not eat from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm. Oh my, I guess bad communication I was told.
Moved from one room to another, but personal clothing left in old room. We were not told.
Awful, never again.
Love living here but The Villages hospital is a disaster.
If it was not for all the volunteers, the place would die.
I am heart broken and ****ed all at the same time.
