Sat in a wheelchair in waiting. She was cold. Asked for blanket, I'll see if we have one, do you have a pillow? No. First oxygen tank done, have another? Not sure.

Got to emergency room. I'm ready to blow. No water or food allowed. Extremely diabetic patient, 93 mind you. Finally a kind RN brought a turkey sandwich, mom goggled down with water.

Finally got a room in hospital.

We have been there most of time. Lunch delivered and mom can not see or cut food or even open plastic ware for eating, did not eat from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm. Oh my, I guess bad communication I was told.

Moved from one room to another, but personal clothing left in old room. We were not told.

Awful, never again.

Love living here but The Villages hospital is a disaster.

If it was not for all the volunteers, the place would die.

I am heart broken and ****ed all at the same time.
Fortunately, I do not have much hospital experience to compare it to BUT I was there for 3 days. One "doctor" clearly just carried a stethoscope around with him as a prop. He tried to use it on me to look like he was doing something. He clearly had no idea what it was supposed to do. I asked one of the nurses and she confirmed my suspicion. I was informed that he was with the infection specialist-SOMEONE ELSE TO BILL THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR. The surgeon told me in the morni9ng that I would be going home that day. Several times I went to the desk they confirmed but said they had not yet completed my paperwork. At 3:00 I again went up to the desk and was told they had not yet completed the paperwork. HUM, at 10,000 a day I was not going to stay another day. I put on my clothes AND I LEFT. My follow up visit with the infection specialist she after keeping us waiting over an hour after out appointment time spent the entire follow up visit complaining about how much paper work for her I created by leaving the hospital.

I had a pik line installed so that there is no need to constantly keep puncturing your veins for repeated administration of antibiotics. The pik line was installed before my last day in the hospital. During the night a young nurse comes in to draw blood with the normal needle rig.
By now both of my arms were all black and blue. I told her,
as I had had other nurses do, she should take it from the pik line.
Her reply was that she is not authorized to do that. I loud an clear told her to find someone who is. I would not allow them to put any more holes in me. She told me someone would be back shortly. There was no follow up. Someone
QUALIFIED did show up about eight hours later.

Further Villages Hospital report. In my room they had real wood floors. This is supposed to be a hospital. It is impossible to clean real wood floors. Dirt and GERMS will sit forever in the seams between the wood strips. One night I looked down from my bed and saw an animal walking around. By the way it's front legs were joined to the body, I don't think it was a mouse or a rat. More likely it was a good sized lizard

As to meds-I am on several prescriptions. I gave them the list. FORTUNATELY I TOOK MY PILLS WITH ME. Yup, I got scolded for that as well. THE PHARMACY NEVER DID GET MY PRESCRIPTIONS. .I asked them about this the second or third day and was told,"They couldn't fine one of them."

Unfortunately, WE are a captive audience. You doctor, if local, is likely affiliated to practice at the villages hospital
