It sounds like you have been listening to the bill of goods these pest company salespeople rant on about, who have probably had about one week's training and have no real idea what they are really talking about.
They know little about the chemicals they are pushing.

Chlordane was banned in the latter 80s; nothing new about that.
It isn't "just about permanent;" it is permanent!
