No matter how many wells they drill $1 a gallon gas is not coming back because it costs more than that to get it out of the ground, refine it and ship it to the gas station. If you want $1 gallon fuel buy an electric car. Yes I know they aren't price competitive today but they will be shortly. Big oil knows their days are numbered so they are doing everything they can to delay the cheaper alternatives. The republicans support oil and coal to pay back their donors not because they care about the little guy.
