Thinking of moving to the Villages and all set to go and even left my job, but there is this thought that maybe I will miss the NY winters. Maybe not the snow too much.

My aunt and uncle who lived in New England much of their lives just left this morning after a brief stop at our house on their way back to Florida. They couldn't WAIT to get back. I don't think they miss the cold or snow one bit. I don't think I will either. When I was younger, I thought I couldn't live in an area that didn't have 4 seasons. My attitude has changed a great deal since then.
I think the thing that struck me the most was the $49 utility bill my tenant got in Florida this month versus the $240 utility bill we got up here. I said to my husband - we could have saved almost $200 just this month by having moved to Florida! To my misfortune, he didn't bite.
Counting down the winters here and will be happy to say good riddance. I figure if I ever yearn for any of the white stuff, it's nothing a short visit up north won't cure.
