If your WI-FI speed doesn't match your hard-wired internet speed (or come close to it) you need to get either an updated (faster) wi-fi router and if your wifi device doesn't support the faster wi-fi router you have to update the device get a newer one or if possible a new wi-fi adapter for it in the case of a laptop.
Properly configured and proper wi-fi hardware (wi-fi router & your device) it should be close to equal. I get 100-110megs download on my hard-wired computer as well as our 2 iPhones and iPad and Laptops. If you are getting 25megs into your wired device anything after that would be a wi-fi issue which can easily be resolved if you want to spend a few bucks or, if you are lucky, make a few adjustments..
