Takeout food that has been cooked has less chance of germs than a plate fork or glass. And yes, hospital waiting rooms can be scary, I avoid them as much as possible.
There is no way to be perfectly safe but my protocols seem to work quite well. (knocks on wood again) Frequent washing of hands is a must.
