Some of this costs $$$ to access, but most information is free.
That is why you keep getting those calls even if your on the do not call list. Those strange emails with links to Russian, Chinese , or North Koreans who are out to verify the information they have on you.
Personal information has value and your not getting a royalty for some entity putting your privacy up for sale.
