To be clear, there is no way to get an accurate reading in home with with those test kits.
Moreover, they aren't needed just call the water dept., they have real test equipment and will provide the numbers.
All of which begs the question, why do these guys test water in the first place, simple, if they add or reduce a few extra drops the the test can indicate any results they want to scare you into buying their product.
It also allows them more time in your home
