Poor little kitty, coming so far and being frightened to death on the trip, away from familiar surroundings, and now being removed from his dad, his furry dog siblings and his grandmother who he was looking forward to meeting.
Being deprived of pesting the birdie. Poor kitty.
Couldn't you just put the bird in your room and keep the door closed? Or the kitty and his litter box in a room, your sons?
Please thank your son for his service. Hoping all creatures will be safe and happy. Our kitties are sweet but wouldn't be nice to him. It would probably take two months for all to calm down and accept each other, knowing kitties.
