Putting a bird away in another room is not a good option. Birds, especially parrots, need to stay socialized. We did it for four days once, to keep the bird safe from a toddler and vice versa (wouldn't want her to pull the cage over on herself). The bird was not a happy camper. And it was hard to remember to keep the bedroom door closed.

I hope you find a solution.
There. I now have been informed. Poor bird. Poor kitty. Get a home fast kids. There are boarding facilities. I asked Mikey if he would mind being boarded or fostered to someone and he used bad language that I can't post here.
