You're right, a Mac is a 3rd choice.
Windows spys on you, makes it difficult to get updates and requires antivirus programs.
Apple spys on you too, only less, and yes, they too get viruses, but are fixed quickly.
Linux Mint - easy to use, does not spy on you, updates are not required, just suggested, and "could" get a virus, but you have to open a "click bait" email, or go out of your way to get one.
Now let's talk about Chromebook:
Safe, Secure and Simple.
Due to the way the system works, (I say never, but others think that word is too strong) you don't get viruses.
It brings you to the web immediately. Most of us in The Villages do most of our work on the web (email, Facebook, banking, news, etc.)
It automatically saves your spreadsheets, and documents to the web with a free 15gb of storage.
Having worked on more computer systems than I can count (PCs, IBM Mainframes, NCR, TI, Pick, etc.), I find the Chromebook fulfills my needs 99.99% of the time.
Not looking to start a flame war, just trying to help people find a safe, secure, simple way to get on the web.
