Nomorobo works excellent in blocking calls. It rings once and then it is diverted to another number.

I believe it's free for landlines and a $5 or $10 charge for cell phones.

Go to the nomorobo.com site. The site will tell if your carrier is available for landlines and the nomoriobo service.
