"Yamaha has issued a recall for 161,000 units to be brought in for repair. The hazard is that the brake cables on the golf carts can fail, posing a crash hazard.

The recall includes model years 2015 through 2018 gas and electric-powered golf carts, personal transportation vehicles and utility vehicles.

There have been 285 reports of brake cables failing. No injuries have been reported.

Yamaha suggests consumers should immediately stop using these recalled golf carts and PTVs and contact a local Yamaha golf cart dealer to schedule a free repair. "
