There is a Facebook group about eating in and around The Villages. The vast majority of participants claim to tip 20% or more (on the total, after tax amount). Like you, we have seen otherwise and we have spoken with many servers who claim otherwise. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion on this (and the quality of service should, in our opinion, be taken into account). Servers have low paying jobs. Tips are an expected part of their incomes. If you don't enjoy a restaurant, don't return but don't penalize the server (unless there is a specific to be dissatisfied with the server).
