Actually from a germy point of view, a food preparation glove probably had less bacteria than other common items, even the lettuce and vegetables themselves that make up a salad, that are not heated.
If we do NOT have compromised immune systems, most of us do o.k. with germs encountered in the shared world around us, and challenging our immune systems may be a good thing for healthy people.
But a glove or a mouse found in a salad is a deal breaker for most people.
