Pest control companies have put the fear of God into the residents here; they tell you what you think you need to hear; they are seasoned salespeople!
These chemicals are poisoning the ground and ground water and at some point, The Villages will turn into a chemical wasteland!
If you want to feel comfortable, have an inspection every couple of years.
It you have an issue, THEN treat it.
Stop the indiscriminate use of these chemicals when you really have no reason to use them.
Peace of mind is in the inspection, not the chemicals.

I have previously owned a concrete block home with wood siding, and then a wood-framed house in Florida. We lived in the block house for about 19 years with never a termite. The wood house I had to tent when I bought and then got termite treatments. I don't see why termites would be an issue in The Villages, unless they are wood framed? I would think a slab and stucco would not attract termites? We do get the treatments because of the resale value, but I do think the bug companies have a good thing going here.
