I think a little clarification is in order. The Nova system used to be just a water filtration system. It didn't soften the water. Now they are offering a water softener as well as their filtration system. I've experienced a water filtration system without a softener system, and the one we had did not eliminate 100% of the water spots, nor did it help my skin as much as the water softener (even water softener alone--I've had them both) does.

If you have any kind of dry skin problems, go with the nova plus the water softener. I think the fact that they are now offering water softening along with water filtration (they used to claim the softener was not needed) is telling. I think they now have a good product with the filtration combined with the softener.
