We put non-retractable seat belts on our Yamaha and they are easy to use. Never a fight pulling them out of the retractor or having the stiff extensions in the way (like my friend's cart).
When you need to lift the seat, just shove them under the basket. If you don't want to use them, buckle it together behind you and sit on it.
