Ok so I am not sure that your comments earlier are something I would consider to be racist...I keep reading it over and over again....changing my mind....but I lean toward thinking they are....

However while you may not have intentionally meant to sound racist....the comment about his WHITE grandparents paying for it could also be taken as racist, even though it is just a fact...they were white...but I find the fact that you had to add in that one word "WHITE" made it sound a little racist.

It could have been said that his grandparents paid for it....does it really matter whether they were white or not?

Second: I don't know if the comment on his financial college payment is even all true...as he did say he had loans, scholarships and help from his grandparents. He stated on national television in front of millions of people....that he had student loans. Perhaps both of you are right....

I guess my point is that chels may have taken your comments as racist. I think you probably could ask 50 people if they thought it was and you may get mixed reviews. We are allowed to have our opinions....just like you are...but we are also allowed to disagree. Chels thought it was racist....she was offended and told you so. Period. Perhaps explaining some of your comments in a different fashion may help the situation. When discribing McCain his whole genetic make up is not brought up.
