I mentioned in another post that when I had a custom orthotic made years ago, the technician said it would feel like I had a potato in my shoe. It did, but no pain.

After a few weeks, it was built up a little more and at some point I didn't even realize it was there and my problem was gone.

I have gone years without using it. If a little tenderness starts to develop at the heel, I wear it for a while and the problem is gone.
