According to the other news site, a CDD 7 Supervisor suggested that the cost of producing the Recreation News could be offset by selling advertising. District Manager Janet Tutt said that idea would “open a can of worms” because the Villages District Office could not wheel and deal with potential advertisers. My thinking is that they could not restrict who advertises.
“We don’t support any private entity. It’s a slippery slope,” she said. I would add that they as a government agency shouldn’t only support any one private entity.
Let all have equal access to the advertising! As I have learned in my brief time living here, that will not happen.
Amenity fees cover 90 percent of the cost with The Developer paying 10 percent. They, the Developer should then have some say but The District Office, a government agency controls the show?
It truly is a slippery slope!
