I have a Roomba, lower-priced model. It is great for picking up hair and lint off the floor, mainly hard floors. It gets debris off the top of carpet but it isn't as thorough as a regular vacuum cleaner. It is very easy to empty out the dirt and clean the brush, however, a job I hate with the regular vacuum cleaner. It can get under chairs and beds. The downside is it has a mind of its own and goes where it wants to. Unless I corral it by shutting the door, I don't get good coverage in an "open" room, such as the living area of many of the houses. I do have two "virtual walls," electronic gadgets that block its egress, but they are not enough to keep it from escaping.
