When we finally move into our villa, we'll need mattresses. I'm getting confused at the variety of new mattresses that are available these days, and I hope one of you helpful folks has some advice for me.

The standard mattresses all seem to begin with the letter "S": Sealy, Simmons, Serta, and Springair. There's also the Tempurpedic, the adjustabed, the sleep number bed, horsehair mattresses, and others I don't know anything about.

Do you love your mattress? Would you recommend your mattress to everybody you meet?

PS: I like a very firm mattress. The last mattress we bought was the "bowling ball" mattress. It's the one where you can drop a bowling ball on one side and the wine glasses on the other side don't spill. Don't believe it. I think that trick only works before they put the cover over the springs. It also has a pillowtop that is way too soft for me. I wouldn't buy that mattress again.
