Ancestry once offered Y DNA and autosomal DNA testing. They currently only offer autosomal. Ancestry offers very limited free research. They also own Fold3 (military records), newspapers.com, and find a grave among other companies.
An Ancestry all inclusive world membership is approx. $400 a year. That includes newspapers, military etc. USA only is about a hundred dollars a year.

Gedmatch is a separate company that compares your raw DNA sample from Ancestry with at least one other company’s data base. No charge for uploading raw data. Gedmatch, has better triangulation tools, some free- some a small fee.
I am very taken with your knowledge. I wish I could hear you speak on it. Had you thought to give a class here in The Villages?
