The construction of these new homes is just amazing. There is one problem that I can't believe hasn't been mentioned or straightened out. They remove the Carport and Lanai day one. Day two they split the manufactured home down the middle and prepare it for removal. Day three the big day, they remove the first half then come back to remove the second half and leave each and every site in terrible condition for days. It is shocking that such a well-oiled machine fails in the home stretch. When they get around to sending the cleanup crew they also remove the driveways and sidewalks at that time. Then they grade the property and wait until construction starts. Some of the units that got the worst damage during Irma were the ones with empty lots next to them. Entire 25-30 foot carports snagged off like it was a toy. These properties were perfect before and still sit unrepaired after all this time because the insurance for a carport is not enough to pay for its replacement. The limit is about $7 to $10k. I feel bad for those people.

The people building the houses are just great and bless them for working so hard in this heat. Pointing out the problem is not meant to complain but to inform. I have made the necessary contacts to remedy the mess but after this many homes being built should I have to?
