Had the same problem with birds in a covered dock. The birds would paint the boat with something I wouldn't buy at Home Depot. The owl worked great for a couple of weeks until the birds realized the owl hadn't moved. I began to move it every other week and the birds disappeared. I've since used the owl to keep the birds away from building nests in my wife's door wreaths and other desirable bird sanctuaries around the house. Just keep in mind that the birds will realize if the owl hasn't moved for a couple of weeks, maybe something isn't quite right.
