Yes, it is hot and humid through the summer months, but you can sit outside in the morning and have your coffee without being carried away by black flies or mosquitoes! Everywhere is air conditioned which certainly is not the case in VT or ME. It is an adjustment, but one we have never ever regretted.
Both of our sons live in NH, one on a lake and one on a 7 acre parcel of land, we could go back for any length of time in the summer if we wished, but we choose to be here.
