Chuck,

I just looked at Sumter Appraiser/Tax Collector websites and don't see any mention of additional "over 65" homestead exemptions. There are widow/widower and disability exemptions.

So, Sid....are you looking at your 2008 TRIM tax notice and see the new $50K homestead exemption??? If so, this is the standard homestead exemption and is not "age sensitive". Last year, it was $25K for everyone.
