Please don't just look at the map, read the page explaining how the data on the map was obtained. It admits that the map is very incomplete.

All reporting is voluntary and from looking at the map it is obvious that our local officials have not been reporting the sinkholes in the villages to the state agency. Citizens may submit incident reports but that is unlikely as there is no benefit to doing so. Insurance companies apparently don't report either.
So at best, all one can conclude is that certain areas of the state are more prone to sinkholes than other areas. There is a
lengthy report issued in the 1980's during Governor Graham's administration reviewing karst in the state.
