I'v always thought the Cakebread whites are some of the most classic of their Calif style. The Reds always dependable. The Nickel & Nickel single vineyards taste all over the map. IMHO based upon the few I have tasted, a good restaurant wine but not for the cellar.

Our investment cellar club has 3 bottles of each year since SE inception. Cult wine made to be sold for big profits rather than drinking. The Nickel comes from the owners first run, as does Cakebread. Have 3 cases of wine coming from small vineyards in France and Italy next month that do not sell commercially.
We have couple of Masters, 7 advanced, and everyone left is certified. It’s a fun club that I have belonged to for 17 years.
