I agree. However, if the manufacturer offers a $1,000 bona fide rebate for veterans only, the dealer will receive an extra $1,000 from the manufacturer when he sells a car to a veteran. So, if you are a veteran, you should be able to negotiate a lower out-the-door price than a non-veteran.
