We took our visiting Granddaughter to New Covenant UMC (located about a block down and off 101 and the small sinkhole in the road that I observed caused no significant traffic problems for the hundreds of church goers Sunday morning. Bottom line on so called sinkholes is “there are sinkholes and then real sinkholes”. Some are caused by drains and culverts and may be called a sinkhole but in the scope of things are relatively insignificant. I have no idea what caused this problem but “engineers and experts” will let us know in due time.

The Villages has experienced more than it’s share of rainfall the last several weeks (ponds are over their normal capacity) and this can cause abnormal ground shifts and breaks. Wish we could give our friends out west some of this unnecessary moisture.
