Which reminds me of a time when I was visiting my dad many years ago. The last 5 years or so of his life he was totally blind. My brother, dad, and I were sitting at the kitchen table and my dad had Bonanza on the TV. At a certain points in the show my dad would say exactly what would happen next or recite the next line in the show in advance of it happening. My dad always had a great mind and we were so grateful that he never lost that in his later years being blind and living alone after my mother passed. In fact, he would always shake his head at us kids because we could remember NOTHING. |
