We laughed last night at stupid memories, just priceless. I don't know how the families of our Soldiers can endure their absence from any training or any deployment. Have to give them credit to just like another friend of mine who's wife deserves a pat on the back for keeping the home lights burning in a fellow NOTHING'S absence. The families are heroes too.
I asked him how he handled being separated from his new beautiful wife for so long and he said, Toughen up buttercup. Part of my job Dad. Whoa! Could have knocked me over with NOTHING.
We offered him dinner anywhere he wanted and he said I drove 6 hours not to see you guys, I drove for a home-cooked meal. He chose Steak and Spanish rice with the little beans in it. He ate like they didn't feed him in a month.
So proud of our guy and gals and of all the families and people in the service and others who risk their lives to save ours.  Peace Out!  Hope the people in the service never have to use what they have learned. |
I'm imagining a knock on my door and it's one of my kids. Nothing sounds better then that. great story
