Default Re: Bill Ayers, Barack Obama and the Annenberg Foundation

I really no longer understand....I did the research last night about the Annenberg Foundation...all that I can say is only in these divided political times would a charitable organization like the Annenberg Foundation be something to fear.

Here is the background on the Annenberg Foundation:

Established in 1989 by Walter H. Annenberg, the Annenberg Foundation provides funding and support to nonprofit organizations in the United States and globally through its headquarters in Radnor, Pennsylvania and offices in Los Angeles, California. Its major program areas are education and youth development; arts, culture and humanities; civic and community; health and human services; and animal services and the environment. In addition, the Foundation operates a number of initiatives which expand and complement these program areas. The Annenberg Foundation exists to advance the public well-being through improved communication. As the principal means of achieving this goal, the Foundation encourages the development of more effective ways to share ideas and knowledge.

In a 15th anniversary report the Annenberg Foundation has awarded some 5,200 grants totaling more than $2.8 billion.

In 1993 the Annenberg Foundation made a historic commitment to public education with one of the largest gifts in philanthropic history: the $500 million Annenberg Challenge, which works to revive and inspire school reform efforts across the nation. The 18 Challenge project sites in major cities and rural America receive grants ranging from $1 million to $53 million and generate more than $600 million in matching funds.

A small part of that was the Annenberg Challenge in Chicago upon which sat Obama and a well respected college professor William Ayers.

If you look at FactCheck.org you will find this:

We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit, "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases. Our goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding.

The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. The APPC was established by publisher and philanthropist Walter Annenberg in 1994 to create a community of scholars within the University of Pennsylvania that would address public policy issues at the local, state, and federal levels.

The APPC accepts NO funding from business corporations, labor unions, political parties, lobbying organizations or individuals. It is funded primarily by the Annenberg Foundation

In looking this over I cannot find any way to connect the dots into this statement:

I have learned that you could write a book about the William Ayers, Barack Obama, radical Weather Underground, Annenberg and Black Liberation Army connection. A lot of innocent people died as the result of Ayers domestic terrorist acts.

I refuse to fear...I refuse to believe in conspiracy theories...I take people at face value and believe that regardless of race, class, creed, gender, political party and nationality all humans strive for the same thing...HAPPINESS.

If we continue with irrational fear and visceral hatred of the opposition we will never be able to do anything. Just this summer the head of the Democratic Party in Arkansas was shot and killed. A gunman walked into a Unitarian church in Knoxville and killed several worshiper's.

I don't intend to vote for John McCain but I don't hate him nor fear him....

Right now I and going to take 2 Vicodine and ice my knee...While I am doing and over the next few days I will be pondering my future in this forum.

I wish all of you well and a great deal of happiness. If you golf hit em straight.
