A good chunk of The Villages (everything south of 466a plus other areas) has fiber optic cable to the house. Fiber to the house is the latest and greatest.
For streaming 1080p Hi-Def you need about 5 megabits per second of download bandwidth. We have, in the past, not had any difficulty streaming with a nominal 10 megabit per second service.
