I think we are going to find more and more politicians who have "ties" to radicals for the smple reason our politicians are getting younger. I graduated from college in '68. I was surrounded by radicals and admired many of them. Many of Obama's professors were radicals in the 60s, semi-mainstream in the 70s. His grandfather was definitely different or so were his friends. So far, I have seen nothing to show that Obama was ever involved even remotely in a radical activity. His friends and mentors, yes. As I said, if you used the logic that friends and mentors who were radical made you a radical, then I guess I'm radical and I KNOW I'm not.

As to Rev. Wright, he is a pastor of a black church and acts pretty much like many black pastors do. I've attended services at black churches. Quite honestly, I've heard things said by the pastor that could make the hair on my head stand straight up. Unlike most caucasian churches, politics, news, etc. is very much a part of the sermon at black churches. It can and does get pretty violent in the language. Obama should have separated himself from Wright a long time ago. I admire his loyalty, am not impressed with his stupidity on this one.

As to mentioning Islam, I listed all of the ways Obama has been tarred because of his associations with others, not just the ones you listed.

Sorry, I'll stand by talk about the issues. You believe his is a radical. gfmucci believes he is closet Muslim. I believe he is a man who may not have the experience to be president but is intelligent enough to learn. He has some very liberal leanings, which isn't a bad thing in my book, but the fact is that some of his ideas sound good while campaigning but will go nowhere in the reality of the White House.

So, until you can show me specifics where Obama has done or made statements to prove he is truly a radical, I'm not going to worry about it. I really can't tar him with that brush without tarring myself and many of my generation and that I refuse to do.
