I am truly puzzled -----
about the temperament and attitude of people from the largest metro area of a large Northeast state and the suburban areas immediately east and south of it of another Northeast state. Twice now loud mouth commentary directed in my direction once at a pool and again today upon exiting our local Publix have left me scratching my head. I am disabled, some of which is associated with my military service for which the govt. deposits once a month a princely sum in my bank account. I am also a proponent of always keeping in mind " you keep moving or you stop moving ". As a frequent visitor to the neighborhood pool I enter through the gate on my walker, find a chair and then use the pool lift to enter so I can spend a 1/2 hour or so pool walking. Loud commentary to the effect " and who is going to save his butt if he starts drowning " between spouses from that particular Northeastern region is ------- please fill in the blank. Today since I am proud of the branch of service in which I served and occasionally wear a cap with its name prominent upon exiting the local Publix I heard from the adjacent couple husband to wife " I smell a poser ". Yes I am disabled, over weight and need to use a walker , but the inflammatory nature of the comment denigrates both my service and I am sure the honorable service of the individual offering the comments. No I did not confront either of the ignoramuses, but boy it is getting closer.
