This goes to the heart of the Obama-for-President campaign for me, at least. I just don't know enough about the man to determine the difference between truth and political rhetoric. He is so much an enigma (despite trying to research him) with no significant track record that how he truly will act, the types of appointees who will surround him and what agenda he really brings with him is unknown. Artfully-crafted web-sites filled with very skillfully written concept papers (undoubtably written by others, as is also with his opponent) do not instantly "sell" the product.
Is he the Ford F-100 truck that has delivered the goods in the past and can be reasonably estimated to do the same, or is he this year's Edsel, complete with the same hype and promise?
I don't care if he's Christian, Jew, Hindu, Muslim, Druid or Lunatic (one who prays to the Moon, as opposed to the "popular" interpretation). With no track record to speak of, he's a gamble. The question is how much of a gamble? That's why the experience question keeps coming up.
