Default Battery for Gas Yamaha Drive

Not much talk here about replacing gas Yamaha batteries with non-Yamaha ones. So, here goes:

Yesterday, my 2015 cart would not move/start. I checked the battery with my hi tech battery impedance meter. It showed 10.4 volts and a dead cell. 10.4 volts would be consistent with a dead cell.

Measuring the dimensions of the battery exactly was difficult but it seemed close to a standard group 24. Then, the google machine said in a couple of places that a standard group 24 would work. So, off to my favorite battery place, Rural King. (Note that a group 24-F has the terminal polarities reversed and the positive cable on the Yamaha will not be long enough to reach the other side.)

I found their group 24 battery with a pro-rated warranty of 60 months, part number 24-60, for $46.99. I had my old battery for the core trade-in, so that was a wash.

Come home and check the cold cranking amps with my impedance meter and it says 550. So, it is a good battery.

It bolted in perfectly to both the post connections and the stock battery hold down.

Cart started right up, and I drove off.
