I flunked my reading Italian class at the U of MN because I was just taking it for fun and already had 4 degrees and had studied a number of other languages but I can read most of that fairly well. And not for NOTHING.
I did pass German and Dutch at the U of MN and got the award for Best Reader of French at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Had taken a year of Spanish during a few nights each week at the College of San Mateo in CA.
And audited Chinese, Japanese and Russian at the U of MN too.
This work does help me on FunTrivia when they start throwing in questions about various words in one of these languages.
