I made a reservation on Airtran’s web site for a round trip flight from Philadelphia to Orlando.( A trip to the Villages to look around). They sent a confirmation email which I saved on my computer for future reference but I didn’t open it because I thought I already knew what it said.

A few weeks later I was “surfing” to find a good car rental deal for my trip and found one. Knowing I would need my flight number for the reservation, I opened my Airtran confirmation. To my shock it showed my flight originating in Orlando instead of Philly and returning to Orlando the same day! I know this wasn’t what I had booked and my lovely wife was standing next to me watching when I did it because she wanted a say on seat assignments. She agrees that the booking was changed.

I called Airtran and they wouldn’t budge on changing the flight without a $150 charge. I spoke to a supervisor and told her (Rebecca #025) there’s no way I would be booking a round trip same day flight originating 2000 miles away it just doesn’t make sense. She said people do it every day, but I find that hard to believe. We are retired so there wouldn’t be a business reason. Out of frustration I told her to cancel the flight and I booked a new flight on another airline. Airtran kept $150 and will only issue a credit for the rest. I am still disputing the charge with AMEX.

The Airlines push you to use their web sites for booking, then want you to pay through the nose when there’s a computer error. I refuse to believe we made so many mistakes, wrong city and wrong dates on the home page. Then wrong flights on the next page and chose seats again on the wrong days. Something had to have gone wrong with the computer system. Airtran is still maintaining that "rules are rules". I do not let principle die easily. I will cancel AMEX if they do not uphold my disputed charge. Just they way I roll.
Just so you know...I am an expert complainer with Airtran....I actually got three of us upgrades to business class for four round trips.....
It is all in who you talk to...and unfortunately how many people you talk to....I don't give up and will call many times with any complaint nec.

Just keep calling....talk to everyone..insist on managers and then supervisors of the managers....don't give up!!!

Ok...high jack over....we can start a new thread about airlines if we need to...sorry!
