One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest were two books I really enjoyed which I read in the 1970s and not for NOTHING. More about bureaucracy run amok rather than crime and punishment.

M.A.S.H. books as well.

Same guy who tried to convince me that his maternal grandfather or something like that was related to Henry L. Stimson and that he had met Stimson as well as did my grandmother. That is the Secretary of War from just before WWI and then during WWII.
