Do you have a favorite?

I totally agree. And Carmen ain’t for NOTHING either.
The first opera I bought was on LP. Since two LPs are cheaper than three or four!), I chose Tosca. It was a favorite for years. At one time, I had over twenty different recordings, including a strange one in German.
I don’t think I could pick a favorite now—I’ve heard many. But I do have a suggestion: Mefistofele, by Arrigo Boito. It’s the Faust story again. The choruses alone will leave you with goosebumps!
Are you going to the performance on the fifteenth? I usually sit in the back rows, on the aisle. I think I’d recognize you. You will recognize me by imagining my photo with sixty years added. Lol.
