And don't you think that having this kind of discussion about it would be more meaningful than taking them down? People need to discuss these issues and not just sweep them under the rug. This should be the stuff in history curriculums. They were great men who fought for things they thought were right at the time but history has proved them wrong and the statues were put up for the wrong reasons. We need to learn from history or we are bound to repeat it.
